Meet Isaac and Raphael!

Because I feel the need to share these two with everybody - they've decided to take up residence in the back of my brain this week.

"Hey, Isaac."
"Mm...whadisit..?"
"C'mon, it's time to get up."
"Unnh...don't wanna..."
"You have to, unfortunately - what would your students say?"
"...Ugh. Remind me why the hell I do this again?"
Laughter. "Because nobody will pay you to sit in your study doing math."
"...Right, right."
"Here, I made coffee."
"Alright, I'm up, I'm up. ...Thanks."
A smile. "You're welcome."

...And, the background:

Isaac, who currently has no middle name, is a bit of a math prodigy who also enjoys Shakespeare, thrillers, and coffee with hot chocolate in it. He also tends towards swearing a lot, but has a fun, geeky sense of humor when you can actually drag him away from his math. Probably about six feet tall and thin, light blonde hair and blue eyes, wears silver-framed glasses. He's also a bit on the pale side, but how much of that is his complexion and how much is his tendancy to get totally engrossed in the proof he's working on, and stay up all night without noticing, is uncertain. He's a professor (possibly at MIT, because I can XD), and occasionally goes off on long rants about about all the students who are taking the basic-level math courses because they have to, and tries to avoid dealing with them by only doing the higher-level courses whenever possible.

Raphael is a former warrior-angel. Actually, he still technically is one, but he got stripped of most of his powers when he came to live on Earth - he doesn't age, doesn't really have to eat or sleep, can't die (although, in extreme circumstances his soul winds up in Heaven for a bit while the body regenerates), but that's largely it. He's fascinated and occasionally amused by humans and they way they view religion, and as such has spent a lot of time studying theology. He's an inch or two taller than Isaac, and a bit broader and more muscular, with long dark brown hair he wears in a ponytail and matching eyes, with a tendency to tan some (He tends to roll his eyes about people who thing that all angels are golden-haired, blue-eyed beauties). He's also endlessly delighted by human senses, particularly taste and smell, which Isaac finds terribly amusing. He's the more laid back of the two of them, and has a bit of a protective streak when it comes to Isaac. Isaac calls him 'Raphe', sometimes, and he always gets a little uncomfortable when anybody else does because he always thinks of it as being Isaac's nickname for him.

...If you couldn't figure out from the descriptions, they're definately a couple, and possibly married, because Massachusetts is great like that. They live in the Boston area ^^

And this, my friends, is why I probably shouldn't study history XD Because both the names came out of historical things and just kind of built characters around them. Raphael is from Raphael Holinshed, who was an English translator in the 1500s - he's mentioned in the historical context section of my copy of Macbeth. And Isaac, is, of course, from Sir Isaac Newton, although he is neither quite as genius, nor quite as eccentric, as his namesake.

No, I've got no idea what to do with these two. You all may just get little bits and pieces like this.
