Entirely her fault. I got talked into reading the Discworld books and have totally fallen in love with Death ^^
Death was bored. People were living longer, and trying to kill each other less, which meant he had less he had to actually do himself, which in turn meant he was sitting around the house far too much. And Albert didn't like that. For the first few days it was alright, but after that, he started to notice him giving that 'You're getting in my way, go and do something' look.
So Death had taken to spending his free time wandering around the library at Unseen University, reading up on humanity. The wizards were mostly content to leave him alone, unless they wanted something, as wizards tend to be. But after a while, even that had been a little boring. Death needed some variety in his life (if you can really call it a life). So after reading up on some of the festivals across Discworld, he had an Idea. A rather good one, too, he thought personally.

Old Mrs. Wyldson has already given out lots of candy that Hallow's Eve. There had been some little kids dressed as wizards and witches, one vampire, a few real wizards who'd seemed a little off, an oragatan who she'd given candy just to get to go away, and a few others she couldn't remember now. There was a knock, and she went to answer it, bowl of candy in hand.
TRICK OR TREAT, said Death, and grinned at her. She stared. He stared back. Then, rather gracefully, she fainted. Death looked down at her. Oh well, he thought, at least this time he hadn't gotten drunk.

Train of thought behind this - my Seishirou costume for Halloween, Seishirou dressed as Death for Halloween, how Death wouldn't need a Halloween costume, to finally Death accidently scaring some poor little old lady on Halloween ^^ Discworld probably doesn't have a Halloween, but I couldn't think of anything that was a suitable satire, so I just used Hallow's Eve instead. Heh. I <3 Death ^^
