momijizukamori: (X: Sei + Ice Cream = Mmmm)
Product of a very late-night conversation with [livejournal.com profile] bangles that was too neat not to do anything with, but too small to pass on to someone else who would give it a better home ^^ Actually written out because my math class is really boring, and because [livejournal.com profile] shoiryu told me, in her own words, to '.....Write something. Beeee productive.' when I said I had nothing to do. Also partially blamed on Terry Pratchett and his Death, who I <3, and makes a sort of appearance here. His concept of Death, anyway.

Fate rarely took an interest in the day-to-days of human existence. Much like how people continued die even though Death only personally attended to a few certain cases, human destiny was more or less content to play out on its own accord, without any intervention on Fate's part.

However, sometimes human destiny needed a little help. In one of the largest cities on Earth, fourteen people fought each other and their own personal destinies for the sake of the destiny of all of humanity (Fate being Fate, it knew what the final answer was, but it wasn't telling). And so, Fate was sent down to Earth to help forward this foreordained destiny.

And, as Wishes are often very intimately connected with one's destiny, Fate found that it could see them through the eyes of the young man who's rather unfortunate lot in life had been to be it's vessel. Fate found this to be a rather fascinating insight into these people, these humans, that were so unlike it. It also gave Fate something to do until the End of the World that might or might not be.

Eventually, though, the day on which the last bit of this particular set of destines was to play out came. Fate stood in the body of a human, and looked out, and saw the threads that wove all the beings on this world together while at the same time seeing intimately the fortunes and Wishes of those standing right before it, and smiled.

Fuuma smiled with it.

...I wonder what it's a sign of that I seem to not be able to write anything completely serious well. Honestly, this started out without any of the mini-bits of humor that just decided to add themselves in. Also, for the record, I'm not sure I entirely believe this theory myself, but it's an interesting idea, at the very least, and an interesting explanation. Too bad I only did a so-so job of covering it...started sort of falling apart towards the end there ^^;
